I have a HIKVISION PTZ Camera (the model is DS 2DF5286) and I would like to control camera movements using a c++ application.

For that purpose, I have used the HIKVISION SDK available in this address http://www.hikvision.com/en/download_more.asp?id=1266 .

The description of the SDK clearly says that it supports several functions (including the one I want):

Hello guys,

How can know the pan and tilt angle necessary to center a PTZ camera in a specific pixel in the image?

For example, consider that the center of the image provided by the PTZ camera has the coordinates (0,0). My question is how to determine the pan and tilt angle that I have to rotate the camera to center the camera in the pixel (30,40) ( it is an example).

I am almost sure that the mapping forrmula will require the horizontal angle of view and image resolution, in my case 58,9º...

So I can view video remotely over the internet and get email alerts on motion detected. But, I have not been able to record video on motion detected to my nas drive. I have the nas drive set up with a fixed ip address and have done the steps in 6.1 of the manual (configuring nas settings). But when I go to the storage management tab to initialize the drive, I don't see the nas as drive #1 which I just did in the previous step. The disk status shows "offline". One of the best features of an IP camera is the ability to simply view it within your browser. Unfortunately in order to do this though, you need a plug-in called web components. I have a couple of general questions regarding the operation of my 2CD2032-1 camera.
1. Motion sensitivity slider. Does moving the slider to the right (increasing number) also increase motion detection sensitivity?
2. When the camera formatted my nas hard drive, it created 11 folders (datadir 1 thru 11) according to Win 7 explorer. Why 11? Inside each folder are numerous MPEG files at 0 bytes along with PICT files. What are these and are they similar across the 11 folders?

I have one Hikvision 2CD camera recording video to my 1TB nas hard drive. I believe that by creating another folder on the hard drive that I can have 2 cameras recording video on motion detected to that hard drive. Hi All

This is my first post so hello to all my name is Tom.

I have just bought and installed a Hikvision DS-7604NI-SE/P NVR and 3 DS-2CD2132F-IS dome cams.

I am totally new to this and had never even made up a network cable before although am not too bad at things like that being a gas engineer and am always doing stuff with my PC's etc... everything is working well and I have even (after hours of reading) got it to display on my windows phone using iVMS 4500 so am really pleased...

I'm new to this CCTV stuff but have some IP experience. I have two questions - see below.

Background
I'm planning to buy a standalone NVR - the Hikvision DS-7616NI and 7 or 8 cameras. I'll have 3 IP cameras that are remote from the house - so I plan to connect those to a 4/5 port POE switch and then backhaul them back using a couple of 5GHz WiFi AP's (Ubiquiti or Trendnet) to the NVR in the house.

I've just setup a 7616 NVR with 2032 bullets. On one camera I'm getting strange dancing lights - looks like some kind of reflection. See attached picture. These lights flicker, and dance around slightly - triggering motion detection. The area is totally dark - we have no street lights in our area and nor are there any visible lights from neighbouring properties.

Any ideas what causes it and how to avoid it?

Also any hints on minimising false triggers from bats (maybe not) and...

Two questions here which I think are inter-related. in short:

1. How do I get better picture quality on the photos that are emailed when motion is detected?
2. If that is not possible, how do I provide internet connectivity for cameras connnected to a 7616 NVR?

So to be clear I have a number of HV bullets connected to a HV7616 DVR.

Regarding Q1 - I've tried adjusting main and sub-stream quality in both NVR and camera menus. But emailed photo remains the same - very small and about 25kB...

I am having trouble getting alarm notifications to come up in the Hikvision mobile app (ivms-4500, v4.0.1 for iPhone) for either motion detection or VCA (line crossing) events. On my NVR (DS-7732NI-SP, firmware 3.3.1), I can see in the log that the events are being correctly picked up by the NVR, and I can successfully get email alerts to be sent out by the NVR when the events occur.
