I watched a YT video tutorial on iVMS-4200 running on Windows and saw some features that I can't find in the Mac version - eg. the tutor was able to Add New Device Type in the config window and from there connect to his Hik-Connect account. Am I going blind or is there a lot of functionality which hasn't been ported to the MacOs version?

SADPTool decided to stop working on my Mac
Not sure why but my SADPTool v 1.0.0.4, which was working a couple of days ago, now launches with the greeting: "Initialization failed". I have reinstalled it but to no avail. Can I fix this?
The only thing which might have upset it is that my CCTV installer has been setting up my cameras on his Windows laptop and using his versions of iVMS-4200 and SADPTool. I also regrouped all 8 of my cameras into a single new group instead of the medley of different groups which had sprung up.

So, my installer set up my new Hikvision cameras and DS-KD8003-IME1 door station using his Windows laptop and password and all was more-or-less working on my Mac yesterday insofar as the door station camera imported fine into iVMS-4200. But today I asked my son to download iVMS-4200 for his Windows laptop so that he could configure some settings which weren't visible on my Mac. And at my request he tried to change the password of the door station to something I would remember and change its...

"Video encoding complexity" setting
I can't find much (any) information about what this IPC-D640-Z dome cam setting does so any clues welcome.
It's outlined in red on the attached screenshot and the options offered are "medium" or "better".
I assumed that the video encoding complexity was determined by the other settings such as image size, fps, bitrate, etc so can't figure out what this one adds.

Network filter! Ooops
I was trying to prevent needing to use authentication on my LAN and I enabled a setting in the configuration that put in place a filter
I was trying to allow access from 192.168.1.0/24 but it didn't like that so I used 192.168.1.0...... and locked myself out.
Any ideas how I get back in?

Hikvision sadp greyed-out
have the problem that the whole settings menu is greyed out. I can't enter anything including the admin password.
I am running it under windows 10.
I tried running it as administrator but nothing changes.
One suggestion was that winpcap needed to be installed. This is no longer being developed but npcap was to be used..
I installed it in winpcap mode. This then allowed me to to change the gateway address as we had changed to a new isp.
When I tried it again it had reverted to the old gateway...

I recently installed the fingerprint reader (Hikvision DS-K1T804MF Access Control device)
I am able to register users and pull reports on time and attendance
I however needed to know how to send an SMS real-time to a user who has authenticated their fingerprint for access at all times. Is there a SDK for this? or any manual how to?

Hikvision Intercoms do not record on motion
Hi everyone,
I recently installed an intercom (KD8002-VM) and would like it to record on motion like any other camera. I have added it to my NVR under camera management and set the recording schedule to Alarm & Motion. After watching the intercom camera and seeing 3 people I did not then have any footage to replay.
Since then I have set the camera to record continuously and still have not got any footage on the NVR. Could iVMS4200 be putting the footage somewhere else because it is an...

I am using DS-7608NI-Q1 NVR with 8 x PoE Cameras. Everything was working fine but Yesterday suddenly 6 x Cameras shows "Device is offline" on IOS Hik-Connect APP, and 2 x Cams are showing normally. How many Line Crossings can you have ?
Hello all,
First post from me, I have viewed the forum and got some good info.
I have a Hikvision 708 NI k2 8p. on the latest firmware. Im trying to find how many Line Crossings I can have set up. Im sure I had 3 set up which all worked ok, but I've had to alter the CCTV setup slightly by altering the lines. Now only 2 seems to work. Tried deleting and re applying but cant get the 3rd one to work.
Any input be very helpful.

Hik Connect Streaming Issue
Hi,
I have a hik deep in mind nvr but when we try and stream out of network its very slow and jumpy.
Its fine in network and also find out of network on playback.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
