Hi all,

I've just uploaded a basic CCTV network video recording application to Github, I wonder if it would be of any use to users on here.

Rather than having a web interface, doing motion detection and lots of other complicated things in software, it just focuses on streaming the files to disk in the most useful way. It has the following features:

- Records a continuous stream into a dated directory structure split into configurable file length.

Getting DVR online

Hi
I have just installed a 8 camera system and got it all working not a problem, until it came to viewing it on the app.
I have the app working and registered, it finds the device but the device status keeps showing as offline on the Access platform.
Tried a few tutorials and followed instructions but as still unable to get the thing to change status..
Any help would be appreciated please..

PoE switch for Hikvision DS-2DE5184-AE

Hello forum, I have a few PoE devices (phone, panasonic cctv and Hikvision DS-2DE5184-AE outdoor PTZ IP).

I would like to drive them all with a single PoE switch. I've tried two different PoE switches that had sufficient power (30W / port) but they are not registering the Hikvision.

Is this due to passive/active PoE standards? 24V vs 48V?

Can you recommend a 4 port PoE switch that will worth the the Hikvision DS-2DE5184-AE?

I have a Hikivision ds-2cd2032-i with on old firmware version 5.0.0 130830. I have access to an older laptop with an old IE version which allows me to use the plug in. However, I am having difficulty upgrading the firmware to 5.3.0. Is this because I am skipping too many upgrades in between? How should I go about upgrading? Thanks

Hi all i have had a HIKvision system setup for about a year now, and everything has been running great, i have remote viewing setup (via ivms phone apps) and everything seems to be running smoothly, how ever i noticed the time is out by approx +2 hours , reading some threads on here regarding incorrect time, i believe i should be logging into the nvr/cameras via a web browser,

Hi all,

I've just connected up my first HikVision camera - a DS-2CD2355FWD-I. I've inserted a Sandisk SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC UHS-I card which it recognises, but seems to have problems formatting, or maybe I just don't understand the interface!

It shows a the correct capacity, with 0GB free space and status "Uninitialized". I have attempted to format it via the web interface, and the process starts promisingly. The Progress bar gets to 26% quickly and stays like that for a little...

Using EasyIP 3.0 3/ 8MP cams with a Qnap NAS (TS-253a) running surveillance station.
h.264+ generally seems to work except with 8MP camera on higher/ highest quality although there's a notable delay in stream starting vs h.264.
The reduction in bandwidth/ disk use is exceptional on mainly static scenes, but may not be able to live with ghosting.

1) Is the ghosting usual for h.264+?

2) Is h.264+ known to work with Qnap? The TS-253a is Intel based with h.264 hardware acceleration which I...

I have installed an 8 channel nvr but now need more cameras. Are there any reasons why I would not add a 4 channel nvr rather than replace with 16 channel. Will defo not need more than 12 cameras in the future. I presume I would just change the port on the 2nd nvr and register with Hik-Connect?

I have a playback stutter/skipping issue on my DS-2CD2142FWD camera (x4) /DS-7608NI-E2/8P setup and I'm trying to work out if its being caused by the camera configuration. I've read that the iFrame rate should be double that of the frame rate (roughly). So if I try to set the iframe rate to 24 having set the frame rate to 12, I currently cant either via browser logging directly into the camera, the nvr or ims4200. I think ims4200 (iframe value keeps resetting to 50) and the nvr have...

Problems after flashing new firmware to NVR

I decided to flash new firmware to my DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR to see if I could improve browser compatibility. The flash went well and I put in 3.4.3 160822 without issues.

The NVR now boots up and is fully functional, but I'm getting the NO LINK message for each camera. I haven't a clue of where to start to get these cameras working again.

Can anyone help with this?

I called HIKVISION and the support person told me that my serial indicates that my NVR is not made in the US nor marketed for...

Hello, I have been following the OZEKI Camera SDK tutorials on youtube and I've had some trouble connecting to my ip camera, a Hikvision model DS-2CD2442FWD-IW. So far i've created a project in C# using Visual Studio that can detect the camera and display it's IP but when i try to connect to it, nothing happens (can't see the stream, detect movement). I suspect it's because the SDK uses "http://IP/onvif/device_service" to reach the service but the camera has a different URL.

So I'm having this issue from a month back and don't really know what triggered it. I have an HIKVISION DS 7208 HGHI-SH DVR hooked on to 6 Analog cam's with 1 TB of HDD for storage. Everything is working fine except that if I make any changes now like an OSD camera name change or Number of camera view change, it changes on clicking the save button but on DVR re-boot it all revert back to the previous setting.

hi guys i purchased a DS-2CD2155FWD-IS camera, i was looking on youtube at all the videos of the cctv before i bought it and it looked impressive, i have mine now set up and to be honest it looks really grainy and poor quality especially on video, to be fair this screenshot doesnt look as bad as when watching the live feed etc, is there a setting somewhere I'm missing to make it look as clear as other peoples?
