Motion detection - struggling with false alerts

Hi,

I have a new 5MP turret camera which I'd like to get email alerts from for movement on my front drive. I've spent the last couple of weeks continually tweaking sensitivity and related adjustments but I'm struggling to get rid of (or even reduce to an acceptable level) false alerts. Could anyone help me with how best to approach this? I've activated motion detection, line crossing, intrusion and face detection. We purchased a few of the new DS-2CD2442FWD cameras and, unlike our other Hikvision PoE cameras, these cameras report Network Disconnected Exceptions in their logs every 1-3 minutes. Our managed PoE switches report the ports the cameras are using going off-line every 1-3 minutes and coming back online a few seconds later, even though there are no errors reported for these ports. Initialisation failure only when secured to mount - hikvision ds-2de4a220iw-de

After powering up, as expected the camera pans, then tilts, then moves to home position and sets, activating surveillance mode. As soon as this is done when the camera is on the mount, the camera seems to think the home location is on the opposite side, hits the farthest tip back point and knocks as its trying to turn past the point that it can.

Taking it down and holding the camera off the mount, works fine, soon as its put up it happens again. Any ideas?

Quick one folks, can any one tell me if there are using HIKVISION DS-2CD2142FWD-IS 4MP cameras with NVR DS-7616NI-ST as I about to buy this NVR and wanted to know if they work together. I cant see the cameras i the NVR compatibility lists on the Manuel of the NVR

Hello everybody,

I wondered if it was possible to install one of the simplest model (the DS-KV8102-IM ) as a doorbell and receive the calls on my laptop (with iVMS4200 or other soft?) and/or on my smartphone. In other words is it possible to avoid buying the indoor station? Somebody have ever tried ?

Im trying to view any incoming alarms from my hikvision NVR to a program i have wrote, after looking at Hikvisions guide i should be getting information like this:
PortNo=
DeviceID=
DeviceName=
IPAddress=
ChannelID=
ActivePostCount=
EventType=
EventState=
EventDescription=

But the only data i can get which is readable is the NVRs name and product number,

any help on this would be appreciated

hi guys, trying to get my hikvision app to alert me when people cross the line, have had it over a month now can't get the thing to work. anyone point me in the right direction? got the intrusion to work ok. i have hopefully got a screen shot up of my settings

Hi!

I have been going round in circles and hope someone can highlight where I might have made a misconfiguration.

I have iVMS4200 2.5.1.7 running on a server, which installed v1.2.1 of the Storage server component. Cameras are recording to the storage server and I can playback the recordings.

Outside of the network, I can connect to the external IP of the Storage server on an iphone, using iVMS4500. Remote playback of the recordings works fine.

I cannot get any PC running iVMS4200 to...

HikVision h.265+ CODEC

Just a quickie to let you know that after a fair amount of testing here we're happy to recommend the new HikVision h.265+ CODEC.
It seems to have little to no impact upon picture / recording / playback quality, but does save a lot of bandwidth and storage space.

Using h.265+ and a 128GB microSD card with an 8MP turret camera set to record at maximum stream settings and 20fps we were able to record for 36 hours before overwriting.

We'll upload a 4K video to YouTube to illustrate this...

Trying to login to ezvizlife ask me for entering verification code. But many times and sometimes continuously, although i enter it correctly it returns me "incorrect verification code please input the correct verification code ezviz". Below are the screenshots. Can you help me for this issue?

Hi all,

I'm new to CCTV and I bought two Hikvision cameras, DS-2CD2142FWD-I, and now i'm installing iVMS4200 but I don't get hte server tab under Device Management.

I have tried just to install the client, I have installed iVMS4200 storage server, have it runing and still no server tab in teh iVMS client.

I have googled and I still don't find anyone with same problems, I see all the guides have this tab under Device Management, but I never get it. Is it a license thing? I don't find...

No Virtual Host setting to choose from.

Good evening,

I have just purchased a new NVR and mini bullet camera.
- DS-7604NI-K1-4P
- DS-2CD2042WS-I 4MM

I'm aware of the virtual host option as the best way to access the camera directly for the extra settings however to my dismay, I am left with nothing to select from and there is no sign of the virtual host function.

Has this been removed from the firmware?
Any advice would be great. I'm just about the purchase a POE injector to allow the camera to plug into my router so hopefully...

Hi all - I am seriously scratching my head on this.
Mac, Yosemite 10.10.5
DS-7616NI-E2 / 16P - Firmware V3.4.92 build 170228
4off DS-2CD2342WD-I
1 off DS-2CD2T32-I5

When I view in Safari I can view all cameras in live view ok (logged into the NVR), they all record ok
HOWEVER
when I log into each individual camera through the virtual host - WHICHEVER camera I try I see camera 1's live view with the correct camera details - I confirmed this by trying it on the T32

I have an application where I am running custom Linux code that grabs images and processes them. I need to be able to discard images where the ambient light level is too low to produce reasonable quality images.

With previous cameras I have done this by measuring the brightness of the image, but with the HIKVision, image brightness can rise as ambient light falls. When it is quite dark, the images still have a lot of noise that makes the image look brighter than it should.
