Hi, Thanks for your patience as am new here.
A couple of things.
1. Since changing my isp and getting a new router I am now unable to see my cams on my iPad.
I am hoping this would be an easy fix but......!
2. Also during installation they had problems with Hik support and the iMac. I just want something that works well and it seems that Hik support for Mac is getting worse. Is it just better to get a cheap Windows for this purpose, It could also be useful in the future for Dirac/ ARC...

I've tried searching but couldn't find any new(ish) valid threads that solve my issue (DVR and app type)

I have the DS-7208HQHI-K2 / 8A DVR.
firmware: V3.5.37 build 180801

I am using the "Hik-Connect" android mobile application, "Message Push Notification" under settings is enabled and even has the "intense" sound set

UPnP is enabled and everything is valid.


Email and audio alerts are working well.... But I really do need to get push notifications working.
I am able to live view the...

Can i get some advice on my settings please. my head is hurting seeing very similar menus in the NVR GUI as well as logging into the cameras directly via the browser.

Am i correct that the menus onboard the camera determine the parameters used by a NAS or SD card, while the menus onboard the NVR determine the parameters used by the NVR and therefore the 8 TB Hard drives. Ive a hard time distinguishing the different menus, that are so similar in both the camera and the NVR !!

Hello, I currently run 4x8k HikVision cameras on my QNAP via QVR Pro and it is starting to cripple the NAS box. So I am starting to look at ta dedicated NVR or decent software I can run on a seperate PC.

Any ideas please? I don't need POE in the NVR as I have a 8 port netgear switch already up and running..

Hi, noob here so a) please make allowances and b) big thanks to use-IP for this superb resource.

I'm about to upgrade an ancient (Bosch Eazeo) CCTV system and settled on Hikvision, primarily because their cameras claim to support my lifetime one and only operating system. Sadly, I didn't find this forum until today.

Could you please explain to a newbie why he needs an NVR, assuming he has plenty of disk space elsewhere? To my idiot's eye, they must increase the live video lag by adding an extra layer of processing, and they make a noise. What camera or network functions do I lose by connecting directly to my LAN via a POE switch?

And if I'm advised that I can't manage without an NVR, does one exist which will give me a higher resolution live view over my LAN than 1920x1080? (My 5K PC monitor doesn't...

Hi, guys i need help i can't unbind my device.

how to unbind my account from hik-connect app, because I trying to unbind but it always show the error. it says that "make sure the dvr and your phone are in the same connection" something like that, but when i check it my dvr and phone are connected to the same router. I wonder if anyone can advise if this camera comes in black? I want it to keep an eye on my shed so will be fitting under the eaves of my kitchen (single story approx 8ft high) and shed is 9m away. The eaves and fascias are black and I wanted the camera same colour if possible. There do not seem to be many Hickvision domes in black.

Hi use-ip community,

It's my first post so please go easy on me

I've got a hikvision system installed consisting of five 8MP turret cameras - works brilliantly. My only grudge is that i need to be home in front of the screen to view motions. Is there anyway i can view motion alerts via my mobile app ?

Note i am using iVMS-4500 app to view cctv camera's remotely

Hi all,

So I have a new DS-2CD2385G1-I. The camera on the whole gives a lovely clear image and the night vision is the best I have ever seen!

But I have noticed that on playback I am getting a lot of ghosting / motion blur when cars or people are going by.

I have also noticed that when trying to playback on my PC using IE Browser ...again it's not playing back smoothly. Stuttering etc.. Playback on iOS app is smooth ...but still getting motion blur / ghosting on moving objects etc...

Hikvision have just released new firmware for their -K (B) NVRs V3.4.100:
HIKVISION UK PORTAL

NB
This firmware is only for recent 7604 -K NVRs with a (B) suffix in their part code.

Sorry, no Release Notes nor further information yet.

I’m using the DS7604NI-K1/4P(B) on latest firmware. I access it solely via the webpage.

I’ve noticed a lot of camera settings aren’t available on the NVR, compared to accessing the camera on its own webpage.

Why is this / is there a way to be able to access these settings on the NVR?

Also, can I update camera firmware
via the NVR? At present i do it by accessing the Cameras webpage directly, but this is a pain.

The two above points negate the benefits of having an NVR for me. But maybe...

Apple have just released an update to their Safari browser - V12.0

First reports are coming in that with this version of Safari it is no longer possible to view Live Video from your Hikvision cameras.

The latest version of the Mac plugin currently available is V3.0.6.23 (on that landing page click Downloads at the left side; this version is dated Feb 12th 2018) - this is the latest version of the plugin we can find...

I've just been trying it out and it seems to contain plenty of bugs while also ignoring the Mac GUI.

It won't let me resize windows manually by dragging a corner. On my 5K (5120 x 2880) monitor (27in iMac running High Sierra), I am forced to choose an app window of either 1680 x 1050 or full screen with nothing in between. Unless I'm missing something.

I'm also peering myopically at tiny interactive buttons which all look the same (even when I change my screen resolution to 2560 x 1440)...
