Hi All,

I am a small business owner.

I installed a DS-7608NI-E2 / 8P/A with 3 hikvision cameras about 6 weeks ago.

All cameras are POE, all domes. Everything works perfectly. I'm new to CCTV but have a decent grasp of electronics and networking.

I run the NVR at my workplace and have been logging in from a local mac and 2 different remote macs, All using IVMS4200 V1.02.04.1 client software.

Not recording

hi all

I got IVMS server on 1 PC and IVMS client on another PC.

I made a storage server on this 1 PC, and it seems to be set up.
But i cant get my IP cam to record and store recordings?

You can see my settings at the uploaded file.

Am i missing something?

Basic steps:

Please download the latest firmware to your PC.

It’s a zipped file, so please extract the digicap.dav file (which is the actual firmware file).

Please copy that digicap.dav file to your PC’s root folder e.g. C://


Then, on the NVR, camera, etc - using Internet Explorer:

Go to Config -> Maintenance (screenshot attached below)

At the bottom of the screen you’ll see Upgrade Firmware.

Click the Browse button at the right-hand side.

Browse to and select the digicap.dav file...

Just wanted to say thanks for the email reminder to update NVR and camera firmware. Due to the risks involved I only tend to update firmware on devices when security is involved or the device is not performing properly. This was one of those occasions when I deemed it necessary to upgrade the NVR and camera so I thought I would share my experiences as it wasn't that straightforward. My DS-7604NI-E1-4P NVR upgraded quite easily using my Firefox browser and the correct downloaded digicap file....

No Virtual Host setting to choose from.

Good evening,

I have just purchased a new NVR and mini bullet camera.
- DS-7604NI-K1-4P
- DS-2CD2042WS-I 4MM

I'm aware of the virtual host option as the best way to access the camera directly for the extra settings however to my dismay, I am left with nothing to select from and there is no sign of the virtual host function.

Has this been removed from the firmware?
Any advice would be great. I'm just about the purchase a POE injector to allow the camera to plug into my router so hopefully...

Hikvision camera losing its main stream settings

Hi,

I've got a DS-2CD2142FWD-I on my home network, it's the only camera I have.
  • Not using a DVR, camera isn't set to record
  • Gigabit network, using PoE
  • Using Hik-Connect for DDNS and the Hik-Connect app on the iPhone
The main stream seems to randomly switch from 2688*1520 down to 1280*720P and a decent framerate and bitrate down to 10fps, and 512Kpbs.

If I change it to what I want it seems to "save" OK and live view looks great. Then a day or two later I notice that...

Urgent help required

afternoon guys,

I have an issue with my Hikvision NVR and need help urgently, before I go away on holiday next week.

I have a DS7604 NVR which suddenly seems to have stopped working today. I heard the NVR beeping intermittently this morning and then realised that it was rebooting itself! I logged into the iVMS-4500 app and I was unable to view my cameras. I then turned on the TV to,view the cameras and got the same result,i.e. No cameras. I rebooted the nvr and the hikvision logo came on...

Got a Hikvision DS-7604NI-K1 / 4P NVR and DS-2CD2055FWD-I setup

All working well but motion detection picks up to much at night time so I want to disable motion detection and use VCA smart events intrusion and line crossing detection.

Through the NVR I've setup the camera VCA and enabled save VCA picture along with enabling email alerts. Email alerts work fine but when searching under VCA from the NVR I get the message 'no picture file found'

Push messages

I have 4 cameras connected to a NVR. Two of the cameras push events to the HikConnect app the other two dont. The NVR is set up correctly with all cameras set to notify surveillance center .
Events work on the email though.
Do only some cameras support push messages?
I have 2 DS-2CD2042WD-I cameras which work. And Two DS-2CD1341-I cameras which will not push events.
DS-2CD2042WD-I - push works on line crossing, intrusion and motion - also emails events
DS-2CD1341 - Only emailing events

HikVision Configuration menu jumbled

I've seen this a few times now, and had reports from several customers of their HikVision camera or NVR or camera's 'Configuration' menu appearing jumbled, and being unable to click or select any of the items in the list at the left hand side.

This often seems to happen after a firmware update, essentially it's seen at your first return to the configuration web page after updating.

It's simply solved by refreshing your browser cache - typically Ctrl+F5 keys.

The drives are formatted and were all installed together. Raid is off.

Version 5.5 Issue with WebPluginforMAC

Upgraded NVR to 3.95 with no issues.

Seems to state web plugin version 3.0.6.13

Then upgraded DS-2CD2042WD-I to v5.5.0 170725 which now states plugin version 3.0.6.26

Since then - whilst the NVR can see the camera fine - however when i go to the camera main conguration page directly using safari it now looks like the attached. I cannot access any of the camera properties.
I can view them using a different browser - see second attachement however this other browser is useless as the...

So, less than two weeks after the email notification about the firmware update and before I had chance to do it my hiki was reset to default. Now going again and I have done the update. I've not read everything, but I didn't have a default password, the one they talk about is 12345, I had to set a password from the start. Now set a different one.
