Please note that ONVIF is disabled by default in this latest V5.50 camera firmware version.
If you need to use ONVIF compatibility, to record your HikVision cameras on the NVR of another manufacturer for instance, then you will need to enable ONVIF first:

I want to live view constant from an android but after 5 min it times out, I'm sure this is new as in the past its ran constant but with random drop outs. But now there is actually a message you've viewed live for 5 mins and screen goes blank. Can it be turned off?

Hi, Im trying to view my Hikvision NVR on my apple TV but I cant seem to get it to work.
Ive tried inputting the IP address of the NVR but there are some other settings that I wasnt sure of. I did think that it was maybe the individual IP addresses of the cameras that I needed but as I set them up with plugnplay I wasnt sure what they were.
Ive also tried a couple of different apps but if anyone who already has it working could offer some advice I would be extremely grateful.

HikVision V5.5.2 Firmware - NEU or STD?

HikVision have just released new V5.5.2 version firmware for their G1 Platform / EasyIP 3.0 range of cameras.

When you select this firmware you are currently given a choice to select STD or NEU versions of the software.

STD = Standard
NEU = Neutral

And, at the moment, I can't work out what the difference is ;)
I've installed each, and played spot the difference.
(a Google search turned-up mention of no branding in the neutral version - it's not that. Both versions are HikVision branded)...

HikVision Configuration menu jumbled

I've seen this a few times now, and had reports from several customers of their HikVision camera or NVR or camera's 'Configuration' menu appearing jumbled, and being unable to click or select any of the items in the list at the left hand side.

This often seems to happen after a firmware update, essentially it's seen at your first return to the configuration web page after updating.

It's simply solved by refreshing your browser cache - typically Ctrl+F5 keys.

Basic steps:

Please download the latest firmware to your PC.

It’s a zipped file, so please extract the digicap.dav file (which is the actual firmware file).

Please copy that digicap.dav file to your PC’s root folder e.g. C://


Then, on the NVR, camera, etc - using Internet Explorer:

Go to Config -> Maintenance (screenshot attached below)

At the bottom of the screen you’ll see Upgrade Firmware.

Click the Browse button at the right-hand side.

Browse to and select the digicap.dav file...

Hi I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on an issue I am having with the above NVR. I have managed to receive alert and event notifications over email such as motion detect etc. The problem I am having is I am not getting screenshots or attachments of the event. Under configuration > network >advanced settings I have selected attached image with interval 5 sec but I am not getting the attachment, just the notification.

I am accessing NVR over web interface and everything...

DS-2CD2755FWD-IZS won't let me increase resolution?

Hi,

I am wandering if anyone can help. I have a DS-2CD2755FWD-IZS 5mp Vari-focal dome that i connected to Hikvision NVR. for some reason it won't let me increase the resoltion to anywhere near HD. It only gives me 2 option for either CIF or or 480px?


I have connected a similar 5MP hikvision and that works perfectly fine and give many options for resolutions upto 1080?

Can anyone help with what could be the problem. Both cameras are connected directly to the NVR POE ports on the back.

NVR+Hik-Connect alarm notifications no picture

Pls could someone point me in the right direction with notifications within the Hik-Connect (HC) app for NVRs?

When my 2CD-2142FWD is connected directly to HC, a motion alarm will include a picture taken at the event.

But when the same camera is connected via my NVR, the HC will only show a bell symbol on the triggering of an alarm event?

Is there anyway to have alarm events from the NVR to include a picture, as is normal when a cam is connected directly?

NVR turns itself off and on

Hi all, I am seeking some help please. I have a hikvision system and whenever the NVR is connected to my network the NVR continually turns off and then back on - once it reboots it turns off and then on again.
rinse repeat

I have no idea what would be causing this.
I have tried different cables, plugging the nvr into my switch, plugging it direct to the router to no avail.

I am looking at a Camera setup With around 8 Cameras ( a mix of functionality ANPR, Fixed Recording, PTZ ) These will be linked to an NVR, however, I need to ensure that an Offsite Backup can also be taken in case of Site Failure.

I have a DS-9016 NVR with a mixture of IP cameras and TVI cameras, 15 in total. Motion detection and intrusion detection are set up and working, and I have some PIRs linked to the alarm inputs for extra detection and control of one of the PTZ cameras.

My question relates to what the "Local Recording" setting means, in the "Recording Schedule" in iVMS-4200. I've attached a screenshot for reference.

Does anyone know what it does?

Can I swap/replace the lens on my HikVision bullet/dome/turret camera?

We get asked this one a lot ~ If I choose the wrong lens / viewing angle, can I replace / swap the lens?

HikVision don’t recommend swapping the lenses.

They don’t offer spare/replacement swap lenses.

The lenses are thread-locked in focus (glued-in).

Also, the Infra-red beam angle is matched to the lens viewing angle, so it’s best to swap the whole camera if you need a different viewing angle.

Camera Has to record on Local storage, when it looses connection to the server

Is there anyway to record on camera local storage only when it looses connection to the server.

Situation Camera is streaming normally to the management server, suddenly it looses connection to the server, in this situation camera has no connectivity to the network server, so it has to record on its local storage(SD card), once the connection is replaced again between network server and camera, network server will retrieve the video which is recorded during network loss.
