Converting Hikvision recordings to a standard format

I have a Hikvision hybrid DVR which generates very proprietary MP4 files. I can get these on to a memory stick and therefore on to my computer but I cannot find any software that will convert to a more standard format. Ideally I want it to run on a Mac but I would settle for a Windows product running on a vuirutal machine if necessary. The only Hikvision software I can find is all in chinese.

Recently we've had a few customers who have experienced some issues with the PoE connectors on the pigtail of their Hikvision device that has caused it to stop receiving power. This can be as a result of a lot of things - faulty weatherproofing leading to corrosion within the connector, damaging it or just plain bad luck.

Hikvision themselves unfortunately do not offer replacement PoE connectors so...

Hikvision camera losing its main stream settings

Hi,

I've got a DS-2CD2142FWD-I on my home network, it's the only camera I have.
  • Not using a DVR, camera isn't set to record
  • Gigabit network, using PoE
  • Using Hik-Connect for DDNS and the Hik-Connect app on the iPhone
The main stream seems to randomly switch from 2688*1520 down to 1280*720P and a decent framerate and bitrate down to 10fps, and 512Kpbs.

If I change it to what I want it seems to "save" OK and live view looks great. Then a day or two later I notice that...

Hi,

I was wondering if someone help me navigate the HikVision download portal (its a bleeping nightmare). I'm trying to find the following NVR and camera's to update their firmware;
  • 8 Channel NVR: NVR-208M-A/8P
  • Mini bullet: IPC-B140
  • Vandal dome: IPC-D140
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Unable to playback recordings from Nvr

Hi,

Am a newbie here, having some trouble with playback from my nvr, I've listed the details below. My problem is I can playback the videos off both my cameras up until sunrise then I just keep getting an message saying 'connection unstable'

DS-7608NI-K2-8P

2 cameras DS-2CD2T55FWD-I5

Everything else seems to be up and running fine, I can access the nvr from 4g etc via the router and IP address, and both cameras on home network or off it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Notification images not appearing for all cameras

Hi all,
Does anyone know why I am only receiving images on email notifications or under the message tab on HIK Connect for 1 of 3 cameras on my system?

I have line detection set up on all 3, which works fine as I get the emails/app notifications but only see images for CAM1. The emails for the other 2 cams have no attachments, and the app just displays an orange bell instead of a snapshot of the detection. Confused as firmware version is the same for 2 cameras that are behaving...

I must say, I'm more than a little surprised to see Use-IP sell the Samsung IP camera range as a possible replacement to Hikvision devices. In my experience, Samsung has just never made decent security cameras that can, in any way, be called of commercial quality; I include in that, 'high-end' private residences, which are rapidly becoming the bulk of my business. You only have to look at the Samsung camera review on the excellent Use-IP YouTube channel and that says it all. In particular...

hd-tvi coaxial to hdmi converter

Hi,

I have fitted a converter box made by hikvision which converts the hd coaxial signal into hdmi, the problem is that it's outputting 60hz FPS, which is no good as the device (Blackmagic intensify shuttle) does not accept 1080p at 60fps, only 1080p 30fps.

Does anyone know of a solution to this? Maybe an hdmi to hdmi converter box which will change from 60 to 30fps Hz?

Or maybe a converter box that will change hd-tvi coaxial into hdmi 1080p 30hz FPS?

Camera detected but doesn’t show in live view??

Hi,

I have 12 cameras already connected successfully to my NVR. I have just added a 13th IP camera (2cd2115) and have added it to the nvr manually. I can see the camera in the settings tab and I can change video parameters for it etc. If I double click I can even see the mini stream from the settings.

However when I go to live view the camera does not show up on the list of cameras on the left hand side? On my 12 cameras show?

I am using the latest firmware on my NvR and have just...

So I'm having this issue from a month back and don't really know what triggered it. I have an HIKVISION DS 7208 HGHI-SH DVR hooked on to 6 Analog cam's with 1 TB of HDD for storage. Everything is working fine except that if I make any changes now like an OSD camera name change or Number of camera view change, it changes on clicking the save button but on DVR re-boot it all revert back to the previous setting.

I tried initializing the HDD again and also changed the tiny battery inside the...

Hi Hikvision Team,
I am facing an issue with HIKVISION 4CH- DS-7204HGHI-E1. Current build v3.1.8 150915. I have added 2 camera in addition to existing 2 cameras but after rebooting DVR settings are reverting back to 2 cameras. Seems like no settings are remains after reboot. Please help me on this.

Something weird and i know folks here will help.
Last Sunday i turned on 'virtual host' on my NVR 7608 (Firmware V3.0.15 build 150528). Pleased as punch, i could see IP address for each of my 6 cameras.
Camera's on old versions of firmware, but i stayed away from that in 1st instance (there be dragons i thought!) as i didn't have a ton of time.
I did however change the password on each of the cameras from default (12345) to something else, and I also changed the names of the cameras to match...

hikvision NVR and cameras failed to work once i reset it and only 4 show picture.i tried to reset it ,it shows the picture but after 2 minutes goes off and only remains 4 cameras work.please help me out to get sorted
