Finally added 2nd camera outside

Greetings from USA. Though I had camera working POE for a couple months on a desk in the house, there were enough issues (Winter, primarily) to avoid the install. Camera is ~200’ away, through two patchfields. Prior to permanent install I ran it hand held outside garage, verifying that it would work this far away, and testing to make sure Image wouldn’t be shooting the LED Motion detect floodlight on the house. It worked, and Image was fine, so when weather broke did the install.

HiWatch HWI-D640H-Z : How to PTZ ?

Hello friends,
I would like to ask you for your help. We bought Hikvision DS-7732NI-I4/16P NVR and HiWatch HWI-D640H-Z cameras. We already managed to get the cameras working, but we are no table to pan/tilt/rotate them, or at least I am clueless how to do that. In PTZ section of NVR interface, the cameras are not moving in any direction when I try to use PTZ controls.

(PS: This is my very first post here, so I apologize, if I missed any additionall info)

Using a UPS with Hikvision NVRs

Hikvision do recommend using an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with their NVRs if you wish to protect/maintain the power supply.

If you are using POE from the NVR to power your IP cameras, then the UPS will in fact keep your whole IP CCTV system running during a power outage.

However, currently none of the Hikvision range of NVRs offer any connectivity to interact with a UPS and shutdown safely before the UPS power finally runs out...

Hello our Hikvision DS-7216HGHI-SH is not allowing a new user to view video streams. We are attempting to view via the iVMS-4200(v2.04.00.04).exe software.
We can go into iVMS 4200 client and the user is registered there as a Super User. On the Actual main head unit, the user is rated as a "user". They can connect to the cameras in device management and list the cameras on the main head unit. However when it comes to viewing the stream we get the attached error.
Can you help fix this error...

Hi,

we know the new generations from hikvision support all H265+ Codec. We know that we save bandwith and storage space.

My calculation says when i using H265, i use 1024kbps every megapixel.

4MP = 4096kbps (My recorder 7616NI-I2/16P sets by his own from 4096kbps to 6144kbps)
8MP = 8192kbps (My recorder 7616NI-I2/16P sets by his own 10240kbps)

The focus for myself is image and video quality.

Videoquality is: ++++ (Anyone see the difference in quality when setting higher plus?)

Hik-Connect app Notifications and Playback

Hi, can you help with the 2 problems I have:-

1. On my Hit-Connect app I get my Notifications but now image, just a bell Icon... any reason why? I haven't change any settings, it just stopped about a month ago, I'v just updated the app and still the same.

also just checked my email account and dont have anything there too. I logged into my NVR and ran a test, and received that email all fine.

2. How can I play back downloaded files? I did have H.264+ on but Iv since changed it to...

Hdd showing as uninitalized

Hi, I've been having a few issues with a hdd in a hikvision nvr showing as failed but after a reboot it clears and shows fine. Today it now displays as uninitalized. How can I initalize this but still keep the content in the drive as the drive is full with recordings?

Hi I've read you can have 2 x DS-9632NI-I8 with 1 active and the other in standby mode. It mentions about syncing the devices recordings then the standby will step in and take over recordings if the live one fails. What i need to know is do both units keep the same recordings on them as they are both in sync? So if I have 40 days recordings on the live this gets replicated to the standby so if the standby steps In to take over recordings then it will have the most recent recordings plus...

Hi,

I've got a DS-2CD2142FWD-I on my home network, it's the only camera I have.
  • Not using a DVR, camera isn't set to record
  • Gigabit network, using PoE
  • Using Hik-Connect for DDNS and the Hik-Connect app on the iPhone
The main stream seems to randomly switch from 2688*1520 down to 1280*720P and a decent framerate and bitrate down to 10fps, and 512Kpbs.

If I change it to what I want it seems to "save" OK and live view looks great. Then a day or two later I notice that...

Hello to all at the Forum,
I have 2 network cameras DS-2CD4025FWD-(A)(P) connected to a NVR model DS-7604NI-E1/4P/A.
I use the system for animal observation and I have been using 25fps, but I would like to record at 50fps (which the specs say it do).
However, I cannot set the record parameters on the NVR to 50fps: I have tried all combinations of Bitrate type/Video quality/Bitrate mode but I got always a "setting failed" message.

iVMS and Error 302 Camera not connected

I am using iVMS V2.8.1.4 and the software does not connect to the camera when first loaded. If I back out of the software and try again the camera connects and the live view appears.

I'm using Dell XPS15/Win10/Edge

Any suggestions please.

Is port 8000 required for email notifications?

I've had my 7608 setup and running fine for about two weeks. Email notifications were working just fine, and I opened the correct ports on my router. Due to several illegal login attempts, I closed all ports except the server port on 8000. Email worked fine. Then with more illegal login attempts, I changed the server port under network settings to port 8885, and made the corresponding change in port forwarding in my router. HIKVISION DVR DS7608NI - Showing as 'unknown' on Router

Hi all,

My HIKVISION DVR DS7608NI which is connected to a Sky router, displays a device name of UNKNOWN in the router management page. Can anyone suggest how this can be amended? I can identify it via the MAC address so its a fairly cosmetic issue, just annoying!

I have looked through the setting sin iVMS4200 on my desktop PC that I use to manage the device over wifi but nothing seems obvious.

Hi, Please excuse me if this has been answered before, I searched for it but couldn't find anything.

I'm looking for a 16 channel Hikvision NVR.

I notice that the DS-7616NI-I2-16P comes in two versions, one with POE capability (-16P suffix) and 16 POE ports on the rear and one without POE capability (no -16P suffix) and just a gigabit network port on the rear.

I combine all my Hikvision network cameras externally at a central point using POE switches, so don't use the NVR POE ports and...

Remote Backup tool to Cloud Storage?

Can you make the backup continuous so that every new file that is written to the NVR hard drive is then backed up to my PC which is being synced with the cloud? We have 300MBit fibre to the front door broadband so i am not worried about thrashing the network

Hi all,

After realising that setting up a NVR system would be so much easier for me vs DVR. i have chosen to go down this route. I require potentially 3 bullet cams (or 4 ) and maybe a dome (but i am not too sure how i can install this on the Porch?

So few questions for you...

1) Which NVR would you recommend?
2) What kind of specs should i be looking at when looking at IPTV Cameras

Hi guys, pretty new to the scene...

I have purchased a DS-2CD2385FWD-I

I have connected it to the back of my BT HOME HUB 5.0 using a CAT5e patch cable.
The camera doesn't seem to power via the cat5 so I have powered it separately with a 12v 2a plug. (The red light shows when its plugged in)

Downloaded SADPTool and activated the camera.

Typed in 192.168.1.64, logged in successfully however this is the picture I get on my PC browser...
